The short version
EasyGlide is the name Swimex gives to all its angled enclosures. Instead of a curve, the roof is built from flat faces, in a three angle version with upright sides for more headroom or a five angle version that mixes upright and 45 degree faces.
It is made to measure, so there is no standard size and no single price. What Swimex does publish is a guide range, which is more than most sellers offer.
What it costs
| Version | Guide range |
|---|---|
| Low telescopic | £12,000 to £24,000 |
| High telescopic | £20,000 to £45,000 |
The Swimex website gives these ranges without mentioning VAT. The EasyGlide brochure gives the same figures “plus VAT” and adds that they are subject to a site visit and final specification. The brochure we read carries a 2021 code, so treat the ranges as a guide and not a current quotation.
What the seller states
- Movement: telescopic. High versions can slide all the way to one end, or both ways from the middle.
- Height: low and high versions, with medium and mixed heights also listed.
- Size: any length, width or height.
- Colours: a choice of 180.
- Doors: sliding doors on the ends or sides that slide inside the building, or folding concertina doors with a lockable hinged door built into one leaf.
- Drive: by hand, or optional solar powered motors with touch button operation.
- Lean to version: tracks fixed to a high wall on one side and along the ground on the other.
- Above ground pools: the three angle version can cover them.
Who makes it
Swimex’s website says its angled telescopic enclosures are made by Verandair in Belgium. Its EasyGlide brochure says they are manufactured by its partner Pool Cover in Belgium. We do not know whether these are two names for one factory or a change of supplier. Ask.
Warranty
The brochure states a 15 year product guarantee. The Swimex website states 10 years. Get the figure that applies to you in writing.
What we could not find
Swimex says the EasyGlide complies with “the most stringent industry standards” but names none, and gives no wind or snow figure. It also says an enclosure can raise the water temperature by up to 12 degrees. That is the seller’s claim and we have no independent evidence for it.
